Eclipse Cabinetry Review: Shiloh's Frameless Sibling

Is Eclipse made by Shiloh? Effectively, yes. Eclipse Cabinetry and Shiloh Cabinetry are both built by W. W. Wood Products, Inc. in Dudley, Missouri, and Shiloh's own site lists Eclipse among the company's other lines. The difference is construction: Shiloh is framed, Eclipse is a full-access frameless line inspired by European cabinetry. Eclipse builds its boxes from 3/4" panels, uses Blum hinges and drawer guides, offers four drawer box options including Blum LEGRABOX, and carries a 10-year limited warranty.

Eclipse is often listed as "Shiloh Eclipse" or "Eclipse by Shiloh," which raises the obvious question of how it differs from Shiloh itself. So this review starts there.

Eclipse and Shiloh side by side

The table makes the choice simple to frame. If you want the traditional face-frame look, including the flush, beaded and partial-inset doors Shiloh lists, Shiloh is the line from this maker that publishes them. If you want the widest possible openings and a cleaner face, Eclipse gives you the same maker's Blum hardware family in a frameless box. Eclipse's own figure for the gain is up to 10% wider door and drawer openings than a framed cabinet.

How Eclipse is built

Eclipse describes its full-access construction as its defining feature: no face frame, so the entire opening is usable, with 3/4" thick material in the box for rigidity. What it lists as standard:

• 3/4" thick top, bottom and side panels, 3/4" adjustable shelving and a 3/4" hanging rail.
• 3/4" x 4" stretchers for stability.
• Color-coordinated PVC edge-banding. Eclipse notes the banding is chosen to be the closest available match and may differ noticeably from the door finish.
• A laminate interior: natural on stained and TFL cabinets, white on acrylic and HPL, and a choice of white or natural on painted cabinets.
• Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges, 6-way adjustable with soft-close.
• Blum TANDEM edge guides at 7/8 extension with BLUMOTION soft-close as standard, full-extension TANDEM optional.

A plywood box is an upgrade available in some species. Eclipse specifies it as a plywood core with MDF outer bands, and warns that some material and finish selections are not compatible with the plywood option. If a plywood box matters to you, confirm it is available for the exact door and finish you are choosing before you settle on either.

Drawer box options are one of the more detailed parts of Eclipse's specification:

• 5/8" standard dovetail: finger-jointed hardwood, 1/4" bottoms, standard pricing.
• 5/8" simulated metal: dowel construction with a simulated-metal melamine laminate, standard pricing.
• 3/4" premium dovetail: hardwood with 1/4" plywood bottoms, sanded and multi-coated, upgrade pricing.
• Blum LEGRABOX: stainless steel drawer sides.

Door styles and finishes

Eclipse is often filed under "modern," but its door list includes traditional profiles such as Arch Raised Panel, Beaded Century Panel, Bradford, Charleston and Concord alongside flatter styles. Its finish families are where the modern side shows:

• Paint and stain on solid hardwood.
• Thermally fused laminate (TFL): textured to simulate wood grain, horizontal or vertical grain, with matching PVC edge-banding. Metropolitan door only.
• Acrylic: Metropolitan door only, with matching edge-banding; brushed aluminum, satin aluminum and 3D edge-banding available.
• High-pressure laminate (HPL): glossy, Metropolitan door only.
• Reconstituted veneers: dyed to resemble rift white oak or quartered walnut with consistent grain, Metropolitan door only.
• Polymer veneer and specialty finishes.

The pattern is worth knowing before a showroom visit: the slab-door, handle-free look most people associate with Eclipse comes through one door style, the Metropolitan, in a choice of surface materials. Eclipse also notes that TFL and HPL are outsourced, so exact color availability can change.

Warranty and lead time

Eclipse's written limited warranty (effective October 20, 2022) mirrors Shiloh's: finished and laminated Eclipse cabinetry is covered against defects in materials and workmanship for 10 years under normal residential use, for the original purchaser at the original site of installation. It is not transferable, applies within the contiguous United States, and excludes unfinished product and third-party accessories. The environmental condition is the same too: the cabinetry must be kept between 60°F and 90°F and between 30% and 55% relative humidity, and damage from excessive water is excluded. Claims start with the seller who sold you the cabinets.

We found no standard lead time in Eclipse's published materials. Ask your dealer for the factory's current schedule for your door, material and drawer choices.

Price tier, in relative terms

We found no consumer price list from Eclipse. Main Line Kitchen Design's 2026 brand ratings place Eclipse by Shiloh at 4.5 on a 1 to 6 price scale, a half step above Shiloh at 4. That matches the general pattern HomeAdvisor reports nationally in its June 2026 cost guide: frameless cabinets run about 15% more on average than framed. Neither figure prices a particular kitchen. Within Eclipse, the one price difference the maker itself spells out is on drawers: the 5/8" dovetail and simulated-metal boxes are at standard pricing and the 3/4" premium dovetail is an upgrade. Who Eclipse suits, and who it doesn't

Good fit:

• Modern or transitional kitchens where a flat face and tight gaps matter.
• Small or hard-working kitchens where wider drawers and full-access openings add real storage.
• Buyers who want a textured wood-look laminate or acrylic slab door from a U.S. manufacturer.
• Anyone who likes Shiloh's hardware and warranty but not the face frame.

Not the right fit:

• Kitchens designed around face-frame inset doors: Eclipse's published construction does not list them, while its sister line Shiloh does.
• Buyers set on a plywood box in a finish where Eclipse does not offer the plywood upgrade.
• Projects where a lower price per box outranks everything else.

A note on installing frameless cabinets

Installation deserves thought with any frameless line. With no face frame between the doors, the gaps you see depend closely on how level and plumb the boxes are set and how the 6-way adjustable hinges are tuned. Is Eclipse the same company as Shiloh?

Both are built by W. W. Wood Products, Inc. in Dudley, Missouri.
