Shiloh Cabinetry Review: Framed, Built in Missouri

Picture the usual Shiloh shopper: a homeowner with a 1960s ranch kitchen who wants painted shaker doors, maybe an inset island, drawers that will not sag in ten years, and a brand they can look up before they sign. For that brief, Shiloh is a strong candidate. It is a framed, semi-custom line built by W. W. Wood Products in Dudley, Missouri, with plywood boxes, hardwood dovetail drawers on Blum soft-close guides, a wide paint and stain program, and a 10-year limited warranty. It is not a budget line, and it is not frameless; Eclipse, from the same maker, covers that.

Below is what Shiloh actually publishes about itself, what that means when you are standing in a showroom, and where the line fits or does not fit a Bay Area kitchen.

Who makes Shiloh Cabinetry

Shiloh Cabinetry is built by W. W. Wood Products, Inc., a family-owned company that started in 1977 as a moulding and milled-lumber supplier working out of a shed in Dudley, Missouri, a town of under 300 people about two and a half hours south of St. Louis. It has stayed there, and today reports around 1.5 million square feet of manufacturing space. The company describes itself as one of the largest independent cabinet suppliers in the country and as unusually self-sufficient, making most of its own components rather than buying them in, which it credits for its on-time delivery record.

W. W. Wood builds three lines. Shiloh is the framed line; Eclipse is its full-access frameless line; Aspect is the third. Shiloh is sold through independent retailers, and the company notes it is available in most areas except the northwestern United States.

Construction: what Shiloh specifies

Shiloh's construction page is short and specific, which makes it easy to compare against other quotes. The standard box includes:

• Face frame: 1-1/2" wide solid wood frames.
• Box: 1/2" plywood sides, with finished ends faced in matching hardwood veneer on a 1/4" substrate; 3/8" plywood top (wall cabinets) and bottom; a solid wood hanging rail for fastening to the wall; solid wood corner blocks in base cabinets.
• Shelves: 3/4" plywood, adjustable, on solid metal shelf clips.
• Drawers: 5/8" hardwood dovetail drawer box standard, 3/4" available.
• Drawer guides: Blum TANDEM with 7/8 extension and integrated BLUMOTION soft-close as standard; Blum TANDEM full-extension with BLUMOTION optional.
• Hinges: Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION, 6-way adjustable, soft-close, concealed, for standard or full overlay and flush or beaded inset. The one exception: 3/8" partial inset doors use a knife hinge that does not soft-close.
• Finish: catalyzed conversion varnish topcoat.
• Doors: solid wood, except painted doors and the Metropolitan style. Painted five-piece doors use an MDF center panel to limit seasonal movement, and a one-piece MDF door is offered for paint only.

Two items on that list are worth a second look. The standard drawer guide is 7/8 extension, not full extension, so the back of each drawer stays slightly inside the cabinet; if you want to reach the very back of every drawer, ask for the full-extension upgrade by name. And the standard drawer box is 5/8" dovetailed hardwood, which is exactly what many buyers are hoping to find at this level.

Door styles, overlays and finishes

Because Shiloh is framed, it offers the overlay choices a frame makes possible. Its standard overlay covers the frame by 1/2" and leaves a 1" reveal of frame around each door, the traditional look. Full overlay and flush or beaded inset are also listed in its hinge specification, along with the 3/8" partial inset. That range is the main reason to choose a framed line: one manufacturer can deliver both a traditional reveal and a furniture-like inset door, often in the same kitchen.

Door construction runs from five-piece raised and flat panels, which Shiloh builds in-house, to one-piece MDF for paint and the Metropolitan door for modern kitchens. Stained Metropolitan doors are a 3/4" substrate with wood veneer and matching edge-banding; Shiloh warns that veneer grain and color can vary noticeably from one door to the next on that style.

Species on Shiloh's list: clear alder, rustic alder, American poplar, select poplar, cherry, walnut, hickory, maple, white oak, quarter-sawn white oak, rift-cut white oak and red oak. Its notes are candid: alder and poplar dent more easily than harder woods, and cherry and walnut change color with light, so choose them from a recently made sample.

Finishes include a standard paint and stain collection that works on any door style, traditional glazes and highlights, an Aged Technique, the heavily distressed Olde World and Weathered collections, and a custom paint program that matches nearly any Sherwin-Williams color. Custom paint requires ordering and approving a color sample first, which Shiloh says adds a few weeks to the process.

Warranty and lead time

Shiloh's written warranty (effective October 20, 2022) covers finished and laminated Shiloh cabinetry against defects in materials and workmanship for 10 years under normal residential use, at the original site of installation, for the original purchaser. It is not transferable, applies within the contiguous United States, requires a dated receipt, and excludes unfinished cabinetry and third-party accessories such as trash roll-outs and spice pull-outs.

One condition deserves attention in any home: the warranty is voided if the cabinetry is not kept in an environment held between 60°F and 90°F and between 30% and 55% relative humidity, and it excludes damage from excessive water. A kitchen that sits unheated during a long remodel, or boxes stored in a garage before install, can fall outside those limits. Claims go through the place of business where you bought the cabinets.

We found no standard lead time on Shiloh's public site. What it does publish is that custom paint adds a few weeks for the sample approval step. Ask your dealer for the current factory schedule for your exact door, species and finish.

Price tier: where Shiloh sits

We found no prices on Shiloh's public site. Two sourced reference points help set expectations:

• Main Line Kitchen Design's 2026 cabinet brand ratings place Shiloh at 4 on a 1 to 6 price scale, above value lines and below luxury custom brands; the same list puts Eclipse at 4.5 and J&K at 2.
• HomeAdvisor's June 2026 guide puts semi-custom cabinets at $150 to $650 per linear foot installed nationally, and reports that inset doors typically cost about 20% more than a comparable overlay design.

Who Shiloh suits, and who it doesn't

• Care about the box: plywood construction, dovetailed hardwood drawers and Blum hardware are standard, not upgrades.
• Want to match a specific paint color, or a distressed or glazed finish that few lines offer.
• Plan to stay put long enough for a 10-year warranty to matter.

Look elsewhere if you:

• Want flat, handle-free, full-access cabinets; that is Eclipse's job, or another frameless line such as Bellmont.
• Are furnishing a rental or a flip on the tightest possible budget.
• Need standard drawers to open fully; budget for the full-extension upgrade.
