Kitchen Remodel Design and Cabinetry in San Jose

A kitchen remodel is two jobs. One is the design: the layout, the cabinetry, the storage, the finishes. The other is the construction: demolition, plumbing, electrical, countertops, installation. What Excelle does in a remodel

Space planning comes first. A remodel that keeps the old layout and swaps the boxes leaves most of the value on the table; a remodel that fixes the layout changes how the room works every day.

Cabinet design and selection follows. Excelle represents Shiloh, Eclipse, Bellmont, J&K and Boxy and builds its own custom line, so the same designer can specify a premade line with size modifications where the kitchen is regular, and custom boxes built to exact dimensions where it is not. Door style, finish, hardware, drawer systems and interior fittings are chosen at the San Jose showroom against full displays rather than from a catalog. Bathroom vanities and pantry, mudroom or closet storage are designed in the same pass when the remodel touches them.

What Excelle does not do, and who does it

Excelle is a cabinet and storage design studio, not a general contractor. It does not pull permits, move walls, run plumbing or electrical, or install countertops. For those it works with a small group of partners it has collaborated with for years: licensed general contractors who handle construction and installation, and countertop specialists for quartz, granite, marble and porcelain. Homeowners can come to Excelle first and be connected to a contractor, or bring their own contractor or designer; either way Excelle handles the space planning, cabinet design and product selection and coordinates with the rest of the team.

What to bring to the first meeting

Rough measurements of the room, including ceiling height and window and door positions. Photos of the current kitchen from each corner. A short list of what does not work today: too little counter space, a corner cabinet nobody opens, a refrigerator door that hits the island. Any inspiration you have saved. Decisions that shape the whole project

Framed or frameless. Framed cabinets carry a face frame and the traditional American look and absorb the small variations older San Jose houses have; frameless, full-access boxes give clean lines and more usable interior space. Both are on the showroom floor.

Premade or custom. Premade lines with size modifications cover most kitchens at a more accessible price and lead time. Custom boxes earn their cost where the space is odd-sized, the ceiling is unusual, or the design calls for something no catalog offers. Many remodels mix the two.
